Hello
Today is February 11, 2009 and Robbie Weiss is doing awesome! They are still preparing Robbie's room at the re-hab so we are in the private room at Presbyterian.
The nurse lets Robbie walk around the grounds as long as he is with someone.
He not only took a shower today, but got dressed, tied his own shoes (double knots) and took a very long walk outside. Afterwards we put a sweatshirt on him and went down to the cafeteria and had lunch. He is very interested in sitting in areas where there are alot of people, he seems to be taking in the whole scene. He is trying hard to communicate, he is really interested in dates, time etc. He thinks he was out for a lot longer period of time and is amazed when you tell him what the date is. Some of that disorientaion will begin to go away once he has a routine and daily schedule going. Right now PT, OT or ST show up at random times he has only had a window in his room for the last two days.
Pictures are the best, sometimes when I mention someones name he has a hard time putting the face to the name, maybe because he knows 4 Peters, 3 Dans, a couple of Scotts.
