Huge apologies for the delay in getting a post up today. I spent a good part of the day running people around town and actually am just getting online for the first time since last night.
Judi and I just spent a great couple of hours with Robbie. He is no longer on pain medication and is regularly seeming more and more like himself. His vitals are all strong and the neurosurgeon told my mom that he is very pleased with where Robbie is at.
I took some time to explain to Robbie what has happened and where he is and he took it like a champ. He fully understood what we were telling him and was very happy to hear that he is really nailing the benchmarks they need him to be hitting.
He has continued to show strength on the left side with the right side improving regularly. In fact Robbie had to have his right arm bound because he reached up and pulled out the feeding tube in his nose and the tube in his head. Fortunately, this has not resulted in any complications and apparently the surgeon was preparing to get the one in his head clipped anyway. They will continue to monitor his progress to see that their is no drainage related issues, but if all goes as it is so far they will not have to reinsert the drainage. After I explained what was up, Robbie was very patient when they put in his nose tube again and the nurse said he only grimaced slightly.
I worked on stretching him out a bit in the legs, arms, hands, and feet and he seems to really like it when he feels like he is doing more than just lying uncomfortably (the gym rat coming through).
Judi is leaving on Wednesday to do a basketball game in Orlando but will be back on Friday. Silvia and I will be here until Sunday, at which point we have to head out to San Jose so I can start working (having put that on hold up until now) but we will continue to be cycling in and out as much as work will allow. Dusty will probably head back to Miami in the next couple of days. Sam and Sheila will continue to be in Charlotte.
We are going to be putting a photo montage together to put in Robbie's room so feel free to send photo's or post what you like to the blog...
I have created a generic account that should allow you all to post and edit on here... this will be on the honor system so do behave :)

I am so happy that Robbie's health is improving. I have some great photos of Robbie from the Roney Plaza days when Judi used to come over to visit Julie and we would all hang out at the pool. The series of photos are of a friend lifting Robbie up over his head and then throwing Robbie into the pool. It is a very funny sequence of photos. Keep fighting the good fight, Robbie.
