Robbie Update 1/25 11A

Robbie had a good night and restful night and is undergoing some cognitive testing this morning. The nurse was able to bring Robbie's temperature back down to normal and the plan is to bring him off the ventilator this afternoon and he will hopefully have his eyes open by this evening.

Because of the ventilator and associated tubes his throat figures to be very sore and so we do not anticipate hearing much of anything from him beyond whatever he is able to mumble or signal.

His movement on his left side remains strong and on his right side it is less frequent but he does move his foot and hand from time to time. He has frequently shown signs that he knows that he is feeling stuff going on such as having grabbed his right hand with his left and trying to move it, reaching for his tubes (they tied his arm to limit his range of motion for this) and reacting when the catheter was irritating him while going to the bathroom (my sister says you ladies will sympathize the most with that).

Anyway, I will chime in later after we see how things go this afternoon. As an FYI, we are moving this afternoon to the Marriott :
  • 100 West Trade Street
